I have not been posting for a longggg time...been transitioning and working on a couple of new websites... http://www.raaphoto.com this will be the main website and http://500px.com/raaphoto will be the porfolio site with new images. I will be focusing more on commercial work and some photojournalist work here too..

This website is to tell stories that have not been told and need to be told. With a goal of helping the people who have allowed me the privilege to tell me their lives with an open heart and to share it to the world. Some stories will be of triumph and some of sadness. Raul Alvarez has been a professional photojournalist since 1998. His work has been featured in the Oakland Tribune, The Argus, The Tri-Valley Herald, The Daily-Review, The San Leandro Times, The San Francisco Chronicle and other media. He has maintained himself through the years only covering his home cities. His photos has earned him recognition 3 times for best photos of the week in Reuters News Agency in Britain. Even though he does not do weddings or Quinseneras, he believes photographers have a wider field of work than to be know only as a wedding photographer. He is also a Master Printer, "I believe capturing the image is only the first step....but, the creation of a masterpiece print....that's were all the hard work comes in..."
